Public access 

The main entrance is on Spring Street. All visitors must undergo security screening and present a valid identity card (see ) before gaining access to the building. 

Parking and public transportation 

Though the courthouse offers no public parking, visitors can use the commercial parking lot adjacent to the south side of the building. Public bus transportation is available through  

Key tenants 

Major tenants include the U.S. Bankruptcy and District courts. The courthouse also houses offices for the U.S. Attorneys, Marshals, Trustees, and Probation.

History and architecture 

In 1966 New Albany’s Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse was built to replace the city’s original U.S. Post Office and Federal Building constructed in 1887. The current building’s repetitive arches and surrounding portico are said to pay homage to the steamboats associated with New Albany’s history.
